Taiyra is a wedding-planning app for Gujarati families. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and what control you have. If anything here is unclear, write to taiyra.app@gmail.com and we will explain it.

The short version

  • We collect your name, email and the wedding data you enter. Nothing else.
  • Financial amounts are stored encrypted and unlocked only for the family roles you allow.
  • We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. There are no ad networks or analytics trackers in the app.
  • Taiyra asks for no sensitive device permissions at all — not your contacts, not your location, not your photos.
  • You can delete your account and all your data from inside the app, or by writing to us.

1. What we collect and why

WhatWhyOn what basis
Your name and email addressTo create your account, sign you in, and let family members recognise you in a shared workspace.Necessary to provide the service you asked for.
Google account identifier (only if you sign in with Google)To authenticate you without a password. We receive your email address and name from Google, nothing else.Necessary to provide the sign-in method you chose.
Wedding data you enter — guests, vendors, tasks, menus, gift recordsThis is the content of the app. It is stored so your family can share it across devices.Necessary to provide the service.
Financial amounts (gifts, pahermani, vendor payments, budget lines)Stored encrypted. See “How money is protected” below — this category is handled differently from everything else.Necessary to provide the service.
A spreadsheet you choose to importIf you import an existing guest or gift list, we read only the file you pick, only when you pick it, and only to create those entries.Your explicit action. Importing is optional — you can type entries by hand.
Basic device and app informationTo keep you signed in on the right device and to diagnose faults. Our legitimate interest in a working, secure app.

We do not collect your location, we do not read your contacts, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not build advertising profiles. Taiyra contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. The app requests no sensitive device permissions whatsoever — only network access.

2. How money is protected

Wedding finances are the most sensitive thing in this app, so they are handled differently from everything else.

Every amount — gift values, pahermani envelopes, vendor payments, budget lines — is encrypted with AES-256 before it is stored. The key that unlocks those amounts belongs to your wedding workspace, and the database releases it only to members whose role has financial access: Owner, Admin and Senior Viewer. A Family Coordinator, Executor or Viewer is refused the key outright, so the encrypted values their app receives cannot be read at all. This is enforced by database access rules, not by hiding a field on screen.

Being precise about the limits: because the key is held on our infrastructure so that your family can share figures across phones, Taiyra as the operator is technically capable of decrypting stored amounts. We do not do so, we have no business reason to, and no amount is ever used for analytics, aggregation or any purpose other than showing it back to the family members entitled to see it. We would rather state this plainly than claim a guarantee the architecture does not support.

3. Who sees what, inside your family

Family roleFinancial visibility
Owner & AdminEvery amount, in full.
Senior Viewer (elders)Full figures, so patriarchs stay informed.
Family CoordinatorAggregate totals only — individual amounts show a dash.
Executor & ViewerNo financial figures at all.

Roles are set by the workspace Owner. Non-financial wedding data — guest lists, tasks, menus — is visible to every member of that workspace.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data, and we never have. We share it only with:

  • Supabase — our database and authentication provider, which hosts your data on our behalf. They process it only to run the service.
  • Google — only if you choose Sign in with Google, and only to verify who you are.
  • Other members of your workspace — the people you invite, subject to the role limits above.
  • Authorities — only where we are legally compelled, and only to the extent required.

5. Where your data is stored

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific (Singapore) region. It is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS) at all times.

6. How long we keep it (retention)

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your personal data and the wedding workspaces you alone own are removed immediately, and residual copies in encrypted backups are purged within 30 days.

One deliberate exception: the Vyavahar Khata gift ledger belongs to yourfamily, not to a single wedding or a single person. It is designed to outlive any one account, because it records reciprocal obligations across decades and multiple weddings. If other members of your family still use their workspace, that shared ledger remains with them after you leave — but it is no longer linked to you, and your name is removed from it.

7. Your rights

You can, at any time:

  • See your data — it is all visible inside the app.
  • Correct it — edit any entry directly.
  • Delete it — Account → Delete Account inside the app, or use theaccount deletion page.
  • Complain — write to our Grievance Officer, below.

8. Children

Taiyra is not directed at children. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.

9. Security

All traffic uses TLS. Financial values are encrypted with AES-256 as described above. Access to every record is governed by row-level database rules tied to your workspace and role, so one family cannot read another's data. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not take shortcuts with this.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.

11. Contact us

For any question about your data, or about this policy, write totaiyra.app@gmail.com. A person reads it.
